Demonstrating a strong commitment to civic responsibility, Galala University has actively supported participation in the Egyptian Presidential Elections 2024. The university, led by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, has taken significant steps to facilitate the voting process for its faculty, staff, and students. Special transportation arrangements were made to the university’s designated electoral committee in Ain Sokhna, ensuring that the university community could easily exercise their voting rights.
This initiative was implemented right from the beginning of the three-day voting period, with careful planning to ensure it did not interfere with the academic schedule. Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, along with Prof. Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hanno, Vice-President for Student Affairs, and Dr. Rana Zeidan, University Secretary-General, personally escorted staff and students to the voting booths. They stressed the significance of participating in the elections as a vital civic duty and a cornerstone of national identity.
Galala University’s approach highlights the influential role educational institutions can play in encouraging active citizenship and engagement in crucial national events, thereby promoting democratic values and supporting the nation’s progress.
