Introducing an extraordinary opportunity for students at GU to bridge the gap between academia and the professional world! We are thrilled to announce the launch of the highly anticipated GU Workshops series, a groundbreaking initiative that brings together leading designers and academics to empower students and connect them with the job market and industry. In collaboration with various fields of study, these workshops aim to provide invaluable insights, practical skills, and networking opportunities, equipping students with the tools they need to flourish in their chosen careers.
The Art and Design – Graphic Design program at GU is proud to unveil an exciting new initiative aimed at nurturing creativity and empowering students through the world of visual media. Introducing “GU Workshops,” a monthly series of interdisciplinary workshops designed to inspire, educate, and foster collaboration among students from various majors and fields.
The primary objective of GU Workshops is to introduce students to the vast world of art and design, equipping them with the concepts, techniques, and tools necessary to effectively communicate ideas and narratives through visual media in both 2D and 3D formats. By integrating with other majors and fields, this series aims to unleash the collective potential of students, providing a platform for cross-disciplinary collaboration and exploration.
To kickstart this exciting endeavor, the GU Art and Design – Graphic Design program partnered with the Faculty of Engineering to organize the first workshop, titled “3D Printing: Basics & Applications.” This hands-on, interdisciplinary workshop allowed participants to delve into the fascinating realm of 3D printing, exploring its potential and applications in numerous domains.
During the workshop, students were introduced to the fundamentals of 3D printing technology, gaining insights into its practical applications and limitless possibilities. Through engaging, interactive sessions, attendees had the opportunity to prototype designs, create captivating works of art, and even customize products, all while harnessing the power of 3D printing.
