Galala University Partners with Fahim Foundation to Launch the First University wellbeing Club

Galala University has signed a groundbreaking cooperation protocol with the Fahim Foundation for mental health support to establish the first university-based wellbeing club, named the “Fahim Wellbeing Club.” This initiative, through the Psychological Safety Center at Galala University, aims to raise awareness and equip students with the skills to recognize psychological symptoms and understand how to support those experiencing mental health challenges.
The Fahim Wellbeing Club will offer initial psychological support and guide specialists in addressing the mental health needs of children and youth within their communities. The club will achieve this by organizing seminars, workshops, and training courses focused on mental health and crisis management. The goal is to enhance awareness among young people about the importance of initial psychological support and to foster their active societal participation in a safe, confidential environment.
The protocol was officially signed by Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, and Ambassador Nabila Makram, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Fahim Foundation. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice President of Galala University for Academic Affairs; Dr. Rana Zeidan, Secretary-General of the University; and Representative Hadia Hosni, Member of the House of Representatives for Coordination, Youth Parties, and Politicians.
Following the signing, a discussion session on psychological support took place, featuring Ambassador Nabila Makram; Dr. Abdel Nasser Omar, Professor of Psychiatry and Board Member of the Fahim Foundation; and Dr. Nermin Mahmoud, Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for wellbeing at Galala University.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi welcomed Ambassador Nabila Makram and her delegation, highlighting this as her second visit to Galala University. He emphasized that, alongside community service, Galala University has established a modern psychological support center dedicated to providing essential mental health services to students and the broader community.
Ambassador Nabila Makram expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, commending the significant progress Galala University has made over the past four years. She praised the university’s commitment to the mental health of its students and the surrounding community, aligning perfectly with the mission of the Fahim Foundation.
