Today, three first-year students from the Architectural Design and Digital Architecture program at Galala University presented their research papers at the 8th International Undergraduate Research Conference (IUGRC) at the Military Technical College. Directed by Dr. Maged Zagow, the students’ work stemmed from courses taught by Dr. Mina Michel and Eng. Aya Magdy on “Environmental Studies & Sustainability in Urbanism.”
The students papers evaluated outdoor thermal comfort on the Galala University campus and showcased their integration of theoretical and practical knowledge from their courses and Studio Design 2, led by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Shakour and his team. They used simulation tools and parametric analyses to improve energy efficiency and thermal comfort.
The session was honored by Lt. Col. Dr. Ehab Hanafi, Lt. Col. Dr. Mohamed Fahmy Abdel Aleem, and Col. Dr. Sherif Ahmed Ibrahim from the Military Technical College. Judges praised the students’ presentations, subject command, and confidence.
