Prof. Raslan, who specializes in diagnosing and treating complex neurological disorders and injuries, is currently a professor at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, USA.
Recently, Galala University had the honor of hosting Prof. Raslan for a workshop titled “New Developments in Neurosurgery,” drawing attendees from across medical and engineering disciplines. The workshop highlighted cutting-edge techniques in recording brain activity, showcasing advancements in both healthy and diseased states. Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, President of Galala University, announced Prof. Raslan’s appointment, emphasizing his integral role in teaching medical and biomedical informatics courses. Prof. Raslan, who chairs the Department of Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University, is renowned for his role in developing the “Nano-Platinum” chip, currently awaiting FDA approval. This innovative chip offers promising advancements in treating neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s, distinguished by its non-invasive approach and superior signal transmission capabilities compared to traditional methods.
