The Architectural Design and Digital Architecture Program at Galala University has successfully completed a workshop at Northumbria University in Newcastle. This event is part of the ongoing TRANSABE-EDU project, a collaborative educational initiative between Galala University and Northumbria University, funded by the British Council.
Building on the momentum of previous workshops, this session focused on the Dual Master’s program, exploring multiple design educational models, including content development and integration, structure of proposed Master’s programs, TNE models and approaches in an evolving landscape, and discussions on the dissemination of the TRANSABE-EDU project.
This partnership bridges educational gaps, creates pathways for academic excellence, and prepares students for global opportunities. The success of this initiative is attributed to the dedication of the core team, which includes Ashraf M. Salama, Head of Architecture and Built Environment at Northumbria University, Yasser Mahgoub, Director of Environmental Architecture and Building Technology at Galala University, Madhavi Thakur, Research Fellow at Northumbria University, and Zainab Tahoon, Researcher and Assistant Lecturer at Galala University.
The initiative also benefited from the insights of expert consultants such as Neveen Hamza, Reader in Architecture, Energy, and Well-being at Newcastle University, Lorraine Johnston, Associate Professor of International Public Leadership & Policy at Northumbria University, and Prof. Affaf Al-Oufy, Dean of Engineering at Galala University.
This collaboration underscores GU’s commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities and fostering academic excellence on a global scale.
