In a remarkable stride towards inclusive education and sustainable growth, Galala University, in collaboration with Dresden University of Technology, hosted a significant workshop titled “Inclusive Universities and Sustainable Development Goals.” The event, which took place on Galala University’s scenic campus, attracted educators, policymakers, and students passionate about creating a more equitable future for all.
The workshop was generously sponsored by the German Foreign Office and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) through the COSIMENA initiative. This support underscored the importance of fostering international cooperation in addressing pressing global challenges, such as inclusive education and sustainable development.
Opening the workshop, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, highlighted the critical role that inclusive universities play in shaping the future of higher education. He emphasized that universities must serve as engines of social transformation by providing opportunities for all individuals, regardless of their background, and actively contributing to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “We believe that education is the cornerstone of sustainable development, and our commitment to inclusivity is unwavering,” Dr. El Shinawi remarked during his address.
