In a testament to its exceptional performance and leadership, Galala University has maintained its position as the top National university in the Arab Universities Ranking (ARU) for the second consecutive year. The university secured the 68th position in the Arab world and ranked 27th among Egyptian universities, reinforcing its reputation as one of the most prominent emerging institutions in the region. This achievement reflects Galala University’s remarkable progress in performance, management policies, and its steady rise in regional rankings.
The 2024 edition of the Arab Universities Ranking, titled “Excellence and Creativity in Higher Education,” evaluated 373 Arab universities. Despite the intensified competition, Galala University continued to excel, driven by its focus on creativity, leadership, and innovation, along with excellence in scientific research, teaching, learning, and both local and international collaboration.
The Arab Universities Ranking, launched in cooperation with the Association of Arab Universities, the League of Arab States, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, evaluates universities based on four key indicators:
• Quality of education and learning (30%)
• Excellence of faculty members (30%)
• Scientific research (20%)
• International cooperation and community service (20%)
On the global stage, Galala University celebrated another milestone by joining the GreenMetric World University Rankings for 2023, where it ranked 1031st globally and 30th in Egypt. This ranking measures sustainability in higher education institutions based on criteria such as education, energy and climate change, infrastructure, transportation, water management, and risk management.
