As part of its commitment to equipping students with practical skills and fostering community engagement, the Faculty of Nursing at Galala University organized a series of impactful visits and training sessions throughout November 2024. These initiatives aim to address pressing social needs while enriching the learning experience of nursing students.
Hands-On Learning at the City of Knouz for Marble and Granite
Third-year nursing students visited the City of Knouz for Marble and Granite, gaining firsthand exposure to the industrial work environment. During the visit, students provided essential health services to workers, including blood pressure and sugar level checks. They also delivered educational lectures on first aid and managing workplace stress, highlighting the critical intersection of health and occupational safety.
Community Care at “Al-Rahma” Orphanage
Second-year students visited the “Al-Rahma” orphanage, where they engaged in a variety of meaningful activities. These included health assessments for infants, interactive play and art sessions with children, and an educational play emphasizing the importance of handwashing for hygiene.
Exploring Comprehensive Healthcare at Suez Medical Complex
The students also visited the Suez Medical Complex, where they explored the hospital’s role within the comprehensive health insurance system. Training sessions covered key topics such as infection control, quality healthcare practices, and introductions to the obstetrics department and neonatal care units.
These activities not only provided students with valuable hands-on experience but also reinforced Galala University’s dedication to supporting the community through health and educational initiatives. By blending academic knowledge with real-world application, these efforts continue to prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals to make meaningful contributions to society.
