Galala University Successfully Launches Children’s University Program

Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Galala University, in collaboration with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, successfully held the opening ceremony of the Children’s University Program on Tuesday, January 28th. The ceremony was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Shinawi, President of Galala University, Dr. Gina El-Fiky, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, and Prof. Dr. Ehab Hassanein, Vice President of Galala University. The ceremony was organized and coordinated by Assistant Prof. Dr. Mariam Hassan Haikal, Coordinator of the Children’s University Program at Galala University, under the supervision of Dr. Rana Refaay, Executive Director of the Children’s University at the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology.

Dr. El-Shinawi welcomed parents, children, deans, and faculty members. In his speech, he emphasized the strategic importance of the program and highlighted Galala University’s commitment to fostering scientific innovation and creativity among young minds, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the university’s strategic plan.

Dr. Mariam Hassan congratulated the children on joining the program and provided an overview of its vision and mission. She assured the attendees that the program would offer a unique and enriching experience for all participants.

Deans from various faculties at Galala University addressed the audience, each highlighting the unique contributions their respective faculties would make to the program. These included engaging activities such as hands-on experiments in laboratories, interactive lectures by faculty members, and mentorship programs for young scientists.

The opening ceremony included engaging activities for the children, including fun science experiments conducted by the Faculty of Pharmacy team, fostering a spirit of learning and excitement. Team-building activities further enhanced the children’s experience.

The Children’s University Program targets children aged 9-15, providing them with a stimulating environment to develop their scientific and creative abilities. The program aims to cultivate a love for learning and foster a deeper understanding of scientific research and innovation. Notably, Galala University is currently nurturing around 130 children enrolled in this enriching program.

The Children’s University Program aligns perfectly with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to promoting quality education, building knowledge societies, and empowering youth. It also significantly contributes to achieving Galala University’s Strategic Plan, specifically:
