As part of its ongoing mission to enhance community healthcare, the Faculty of Nursing at Galala University, in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, organized a medical convoy to the city of Safaga on Thursday, December 12, 2024.
The convoy included a multidisciplinary team of faculty members and students from Galala University’s medical faculties, including Nursing, Applied Health Sciences, Medicine, and Pharmacy, as well as students from the Faculty of Media and several administrative staff.
Upon arrival, the team was welcomed by Dr. Hossam Hegazy, Director of the Quarantine Center, who gave them a tour of the facilities. The team began by displaying awareness posters addressing common diseases and preventive measures.
The convoy provided medical and awareness services to port workers and their families. This included:
• Vital sign measurements for each individual.
• Body Mass Index (BMI) calculations.
• One-on-one health awareness sessions.
Beneficiaries were then directed to the appropriate clinics based on their health needs. The team served approximately 90 workers which confirms GU’s continuous efforts to support community health and well-being.
