Galala University proudly participated in the 3rd International Youth Forum on Artificial Intelligence, held under the patronage of the Egyptian Cabinet at the Engineering Authority Headquarters. The two-day event brought together representatives from over 30 countries worldwide, providing a platform for young innovators to present groundbreaking projects in artificial intelligence, advanced technology, and sports medicine.
During the forum, the university showcased several student-led projects that highlight its commitment to cutting-edge research and technological advancement. Among these projects was an AI-powered system for predicting drug interactions in sports medicine, designed to help athletes and coaches make informed decisions about medication use during training and recovery. Another project focused on developing an AI-based MRI analysis system, which enhances medical diagnosis accuracy by detecting liver tumors and predicting potential injuries, contributing to early disease detection and treatment.
Galala University also introduced a smart energy management system for electric wheelchairs, aimed at optimizing battery performance, preventing overcharging, and enhancing user independence. Additionally, the university presented an ionospheric prediction model using GNSS observations, which improves the accuracy of space navigation and communication systems by forecasting changes in the ionospheric electron content over Egypt.
Dr. Mohamed El Shinawi, President of Galala University, emphasized that the university is committed to supporting the Ministry of Higher Education’s strategy by fostering innovative thinking in technology and scientific research. He highlighted the institution’s role in providing practical solutions to contemporary challenges, reinforcing its position as a leading hub for education and technological advancement on both regional and international levels.
Dr. Afaf Al-Oufi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, stated that Galala University’s participation in the forum with multiple projects reflects its dedication to creating an innovative learning environment that connects students with industry needs and provides opportunities to engage with international experts. She further highlighted that the forum served as a valuable learning experience, allowing students to explore the latest advancements in artificial intelligence through specialized workshops. She reaffirmed the university’s ongoing commitment to fostering pioneering student projects that drive scientific and technological advancements across various fields.
