GU students participate in a workshop, titled “Urban (Heritage) Narratives: Every Taracina has a Story

A recent workshop funded by the British Council’s Cultural Protection Fund was held in Port Said for the “Abbas Bazar: Port Said Recovery Lab” project. The 10-day workshop, titled “Urban (Heritage) Narratives: Every Taracina has a Story,” aimed to discover Port Said through the perspectives of residents. The workshop was the first stage of preparing an urban plan and restoring the Abbas Bazaar building. Over 22 students from various universities in Egypt participated. The project is led by a team from GU headed by Dr. Maged Zagow, the Director of the Architectural Design and Digital Architecture Program, in cooperation with BTU Cottbus from Germany, and in partnership with Al Yakaniya for Heritage and Arts, Port Said Ala Adeemo, Port Said University, and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology—Port Said branch.
