This two-day molecular cloning workshop offers a brief yet comprehensive introduction to essential cloning techniques. Participants will engage in hands-on experience with key cloning procedures, learning the principles of DNA manipulation and cloning. By the workshop’s conclusion, attendees should be equipped to carry out basic molecular cloning experiments.
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM: Introducing recombinant plasmids into a recipient host and selection of transformants Bacterial Transformation: Transforming competent E. coli with the ligated plasmid – Plating transformed cells on agar plates – Methods of selection of transformants
2:30 PM – 4.30 PM: Applications of molecular cloning : Case study 1: Identification of bacterial hypothetical systems.
Theoretical Session 3 (1.5 hrs.) To be arranged: Case study 2: Construction of antibody display libraries.
