Marwa Adel is an Egyptian visual artist based in Cairo. She explores the human body, identity, cultural and social taboos. Her work focuses on the human body as an attempt to show the evolution and the infinite conflict between some fundamental forms of existence that live in a state of permanent contradiction and antagonism. It is the discovery and the revelation of the relationship between form and essence, spirit and materiality, image and ideas. Adel has held various solo exhibitions and participated in group national and international exhibitions and has won national and international awards for her bold and powerful work.
