Galala University hosted a comprehensive workshop series in collaboration with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), aimed at strengthening the expertise of academic staff and promoting best practices in higher education. The workshop series featured in-depth training sessions covering critical topics essential for academic development:
- Capacity Development for Internationalization: Participants explored strategies to enhance the global engagement of universities, including fostering international partnerships, student exchange programs, and cross-border research collaborations. The session emphasized the value of global perspectives in enriching academic experiences and expanding learning opportunities for students.
- Fundraising Skills and Best Practices: Attendees gained insights into effective fundraising techniques specifically tailored for academic institutions. Topics included identifying potential funding sources, building meaningful relationships with donors, and implementing impactful fundraising campaigns to support research, scholarships, and infrastructure projects.
- Competitive Research Proposal Writing: Designed to strengthen faculty members’ research capabilities, this session provided guidance on crafting persuasive and well-structured research proposals. Participants learned how to align their proposals with funding criteria, highlight the significance of their research, and showcase potential societal and academic impacts to increase their chances of securing support.
- University Exams and Digital Question Banks: Focusing on improving assessment processes, this session introduced best practices for developing and managing digital question banks. Faculty members discussed strategies to enhance exam quality, streamline grading processes, and ensure consistency and reliability in assessments through digital tools.
