Biography

Prof. Dr. Amira Abdel Motaal is a distinguished figure in the field of pharmacy, currently serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Galala University. With a strong academic background and extensive leadership experience, she has made significant contributions to both academia and industry.

Dr. Abdel Motaal obtained her Ph.D. from the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy at Eberhard Karls University, Tübingen, Germany, in January 2006. Her academic journey spans 28 years, during which she has demonstrated a commitment to excellence in education and research.

In addition to her academic endeavors, Dr. Abdel Motaal has amassed nearly 15 years of leadership experience, showcasing her ability to lead and inspire others. Her leadership roles have spanned across various national and international universities, as well as in the industry, highlighting her versatility and adaptability in different settings.

Dr. Abdel Motaal’s multidisciplinary background has equipped her with a diverse skill set, enabling her to excel in various domains within the field of pharmacy. She has been actively involved in both national and international projects, contributing her expertise to advance research and innovation in pharmacy.

One notable achievement of Dr. Abdel Motaal is her participation in establishing the Egyptian Guidelines for the Registration of Herbal Medicine at the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA). This initiative underscores her dedication to promoting regulatory standards and ensuring the safety and efficacy of herbal medicines in Egypt.

  • Developing phyto-pharmaceuticals from Egyptian traditional plants for the treatment/prevention of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer.
  • Research interests are directed towards developing natural remedies to maintain human health.
