Dr. Rana Zeidan is Galala University’s Secretary General since April 2022. Besides holding this post, she also serves as the Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Galala University since 2020 and till present.
Dr. Rana Zeidan is also a member of more than one consulting committee across the country dealing with digital transformation, operation as well as strategic planning. She is a well-known figure in non for profit, sustainable development as well as charity work as she serves as the secretary general of ISMAOONA charity foundation and Elkholafaa Elrashedein association. She has been awarded in the Egyptian Volunteering Day for her initiatives to encourage volunteering among the Immigrant Egyptian Doctors in hospitals in rural areas in 2016.
Dr. Rana combines both the managerial and leadership skills to supervise the administrative hierarchy in the University and coordinate the activities between the top management and the administrative offices. She’s the Chairman of the Human Resources Committee for the evaluation, promotion, and reallocation of the administrative staff together with Support Service Council.
Among her responsibilities are monitoring and coordinating all the financial aspects of the University, as well as the management of the University utilities and consumables. She is responsible for business development, information technology, security, and maintenance as well as the University facilities affairs.
Furthermore, Dr. Zeidan ensures the quality-of-life environment in the University dormitory, hotels and services offered to the students, faculty, staff, and guests and ensures smooth and effective operation.
She has held many managerial and leadership positions in the past 10 years. She was the first Assistant to the Minister of Health and Population under the age of 40 years in 2014. She was also the General Manager of the International Cooperation and Social Responsibility at The National Training Academy. As a part of her responsibilities as Director General of External Health Relations – Ministry of Health and Population in 2018, she served as a Rapporteur of the Technical Advisory Committee for Arab Health Ministers – League of Arab States, Member of the Follow-up Committee of the Supreme Committees – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Official representative of the Egyptian Ministry of Health in the League of Arab States.
She worked also as a director for many healthcare organizations and financial institutions and an instructor for operation management in reputable universities in Egypt.
On the international level, Dr Rana Zeidan worked as a Research Assistant in Case Western University Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio, USA from 2007 to 2010
Dr. Rana Zeidan earned a bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, Ain Shams University (1999). She also received a master’s degree in Clinical Pathology from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Ain Shams University in 2004, and the American equivalent of MBBS – ECFMG in 2009. Led by her passion for management and leadership, Dr. Zeidan has a diploma in Total Quality Management, The American University in Cairo (2012) and another one in Public Health Policy and Management, at the Higher Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India (2019). In 2017, she earned a master’s degree in Governmental Business Administration – ESLSCA Business School, where she’s currently studying for a Ph.D. in Business Administration.
